This example is slightly more complicated than just a straight forward photo-merge, as some of the final image had to be reconstructed from an amalgamation of the two original images.

 

The criterion for this image was to simply, remove the men from the image. As you can see from the two original images there were sections of the background missing in each of the photographs, so a composite had to be created using what information was available from the two original images.

There were fundamentally three stages in the construction of the final image. The first stage was as we have seen above the removal of the men. The second stage was to isolate the camels head and the background, as the posture of the camel is better in this photograph and the figures posture is better in the other image. The final stage was to merge the two images without any obvious joining.
