This online portfolio has been constructed to showcase a selection of Alan Stocks artwork and graphical images. The portfolio has been broken into several categories constructed to display specific fields of Art or design.

 This section consists of a selection of illustrations created for various projects. All of the vectored artwork was produced in Adobe Illustrator.

 The design work in this section consists of artwork designed specifically for corporate projects. The designs range from business logos through to content for a promotional advertising campaign.

 Most of the content in this section was created for projects when Alan was studying his HNC in Design for Interactive media. All of the stills displayed were taken from animated 3D movies which were created in Cinema 4D, and then edited and compiled into movie clips using Adobe Premiere Pro.

Design for the web is not only about web site design and construction; a large element of efficiently designing for the web is the optimising of images and other graphical content.  This area of web design can often be largely overlooked. There will always have to be a trade off over the file size of a given web page, and the quality of the graphical content that is displayed on that page. Web optimisation is acquiring maximum graphical effect with a minimum memory usage.
Alan specifically specialises in designing with web optimisation in mind. In this section of the site you will see examples of work produced for the web by Alan displaying this.
The software mainly used by Alan uses to produce artwork for the web images are a combination of Photoshop, Flash, and Fireworks, and is then constructed into web pages using Dreamweaver.

 This section consists of some simple animations produced in Flash.

 This section consists of a series of montages and other digitally created artwork. Most of the work has been produced primarily in Photoshop, although specific elements of some of the compositions have been created in other various graphic applications.

This section is contains examples of Alan’s photograph work. The section has been categorised into specific ‘Photo Sets’ of related content.  Some of the images in this section have been digitally enhanced to produce the final effect on an image.

Photo manipulation is the magic of modern images. No longer is it true that ‘ The camera never lies’, today anything is possible. With the electronic dark room we can merge several images to produce an event in time that never existed, to the correction of the colour of the content of an image to enhance its eventual effect or produce a specific mood to an image.
All of the images in this section have been edited with Photoshop, using a variety of blend mode and masking techniques.
